Our beginning
Flow Route Base started in 2021 when founder Mara Quinn held informal kitchen-table sessions for friends who had SOL sitting on exchanges but no plan to hold their own keys. Word spread through Glasgow meetups, and by 2022 the Berryknowes Avenue studio opened for scheduled appointments.
We remain independent — not affiliated with Solana or the Solana Foundation — and focused narrowly on education: how to install a wallet, write a recovery phrase safely, recognise scams, and optionally pair a hardware signer.
What we believe
Self-custody is a craft learned with repetition and calm, not a race through app store screens. We prefer devnet practice, paper phrase copies, and honest conversation about what can go wrong. We do not sell tokens, manage funds, or recommend investments.
The team
Mara Quinn — Founder & lead educator
Mara has guided wallet setup for hundreds of UK learners since 2021. She previously taught adult literacy classes in Glasgow and brings that same patience to seed phrase verification drills.
Ewan Brodie — Associate consultant
Ewan joined in 2023 with a background in community tech tutoring. He specialises in Android wallet setups and hardware device pairing for Ledger and Trezor models commonly sold in the UK.
Working with clients
Sessions are available in person at our Glasgow studio, via secure video for UK residents, and occasionally at community events we announce on our field notes page. We respond to contact form messages within two working days and publish our rates openly on the pricing page.
